Sugar Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:
1 stick of butter(8 tbs)
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
1tsp vanilla paste/extract
1 tsp almond extract
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- In a stand mixer combine butter and sugar. Cream on high until light in color and fluffy in texture
- Add one egg and beat on medium until completely mixed in
- Add second egg and repeat
- In a separate bowl sift together flour, baking powder, and salt
- With mixer stopped, add in first half of flour mixture and beat on low speed for 20-30 seconds just until combined
- Add in second half of flour mixture and again mix on low until the dough just comes together
- Place dough in sealed container in fridge for at least 1 hr or until completely chilled
- When chilled, take out 1 small section of dough at a time to roll out with a floured rolling pin. The dough needs to stay as chilled as possible. Cut shapes of choice and set on baking pan with parchment paper
- Place pan with cut cookies in refrigerator for 15 mins
- Transfer to oven and bake for 8 mins. The bottom of the cookies should be slightly colored but not brown. There should be no color on top of cookie.
- Allow to cool and then remove and ice with favorite icing!
