Sugar Cookie Recipe

1 stick of butter(8 tbs)
2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
1tsp vanilla paste/extract
1 tsp almond extract
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt



  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. In a stand mixer combine butter and sugar. Cream on high until light in color and fluffy in texture
  3. Add one egg and beat on medium until completely mixed in
  4. Add second egg and repeat
  5. In a separate bowl sift together flour, baking powder, and salt
  6. With mixer stopped, add in first half of flour mixture and beat on low speed for 20-30 seconds just until combined
  7. Add in second half of flour mixture and again mix on low until the dough just comes together
  8. Place dough in sealed container in fridge for at least 1 hr or until completely chilled
  9. When chilled, take out 1 small section of dough at a time to roll out with a floured rolling pin. The dough needs to stay as chilled as possible. Cut shapes of choice and set on baking pan with parchment paper
  10. Place pan with cut cookies in refrigerator for 15 mins
  11. Transfer to oven and bake for 8 mins. The bottom of the cookies should be slightly colored but not brown. There should be no color on top of cookie.
  12. Allow to cool and then remove and ice with favorite icing!
